Biography
Gowoon is a Ph.D. student in the Stanford University Department of Applied Physics, and she joined Prof. Evan Reed's group in Spring 2016. She received her B.S. in Physics from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. In 2013, she spent a year at Karlsruher Institut für Technologie in Germany, where she worked on superconducting metamaterials with Prof. Alexey Ustinov. Her research focused on employing SQUIDs of different geometries for applications in frequency-tunable metamaterials. In 2014, she also studied plasmonics with Prof. Min-Kyo Seo at KAIST.

Currently, her research focuses on analyzing materials databases to find layered materials. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, hiking and drawing.
